Awkwafina was initially an American performer and rapper, releasing sly tracks that tackled issues such as racial and sexual identities with a funny twist. Before expanding into Hollywood the singer could perform a variety of tracks. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants within Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was via the trumpet. After a classical and jazz education She delved into hip-hop as a teen. In her studies, she studied journalism as well as women's studies, and was learning Mandarin in Beijing for a stint.
